Colorectal surgeons specialize in the surgical treatment of disorders affecting the colon, rectum, and anus. They are involved in the management of complex pelvic floor disorders such as fecal incontinence, rectal prolapse, and pelvic floor dysfunction related to colorectal conditions.

Dr. El Sayegh is a General Surgeon who is subspecialized in Colorectal and Robotic surgery. He obtained his MD degree from the Lebanese American University in 2014. Afterwards, he completed his General Surgery residency by the year 2020 where he trained mainly at the Lebanese American University Medical Center- Rizk hospital and affiliated hospitals among which are “Clemenceau Medical Center”, “Mount Lebanon Hospital” and “Rafic Harriri University Hospital”.

After graduation he practiced General surgery as an attending physician in the “Libano-francais hospital” and “Bekaa hospital” in the Zahle region. He then travelled to Canada and pursued a Fellowship in Colorectal and Robotic Surgery at the “Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de l’Université de Montreal” (CHUM) one of the Canada’s biggest tertiary centers for colorectal pathologies. Upon completion of the fellowship in summer 2022 he returned to Lebanon.

Dr. El Sayegh is trained to perform minimally invasive abdominal and digestive surgeries, hernia repair surgeries (open and laparoscopic), thyroid and endocrine surgeries, obesity and bariatric surgeries, minimally invasive colorectal surgeries, and trans anal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) for benign and early stage rectal tumors, proctology and laser treatments of anorectal pathologies.

Dr. El Sayegh is recruited by the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chaghoury School Of Medicine as a part-time faculty member of the Department of Surgery and Clinical instructor in the Division of General Surgery.
